  1. After watching lots of stuff and listening to lots more I have ordered a Forster bump and bushing die also. To me it seems to be a really good combination of both camps. Watch this space 🤣
  2. I tried at 1400 yards at Bunkies with 195grn TMKs which are great at 1000, but went subsonic at 1250ish and were not really grouping at all. I have some loads with 205grn ELD-Ms which stay super until about 1400. I will have to try them one day and see if I can do the elusive mile. Until then it's just a dream
  3. I have been told that full length resizing fire formed cases is a bad thing by some and the only way by others. I am confuddled. I have always neck sized with affordable Lee dies in the past and fitted the bullets with Forster micrometer seating dies. I have gone down the same route with my new 6.5 creedmoor, though I haven't experimented with seating depths yet. So far I have full length resized once fired Hornady brass, but found the bullets a bit tight in the case and there has been some tiny bits of brass swarf landing on the press lower after seating. I was wondering about getting a neck sizing die with bushings in it for a more accurate neck size. The other option I guess would be to get a 6.5mm mandrel die? WHat is thought to be the best idea?
  4. I've settled on 43.7 grns of N555 which is sending the 140grn ELD-Ms out at at an average of 2830FPS with an SD of 9 and a spread of 28 over 8 rounds. It was grouping nicely at 900metres yesterday which made me very happy. The trigger on the new STR FC is a dream. Thanks for all the help lads ... next I have to experiment with seating depth
  5. My dream as well, but I doubt I'll be able to do it with my factory .300 WinMag, but I'd love to try !
  6. Booked Stickledown for Friday week and have been told that the Intarso targets are buggered .... yet again and all they have on offer is 300yards. I have a new 6.5 Creedmoor which I was looking forward to testing at a thousand. There isn't I guess any discount offered given all that is on offer is 300yards. Is it me being unlucky or is this system really flakey? They tell me that they are awaiting parts unlikely to arrive before the end of August as a best case scenario FFS! Why do I keep paying my NRA membership? Grumpy from Somerset.
  7. I have two sealed 1 kilo bottles of N150. Obviously can't post this. I am based near Bristol. I am going to Bisley on the 28th at lunchtime to dispose of some unwanted lead on Stickledown. £100 / kilo
  8. I've only just go my Sabatti STR FC chambered in 6.5mm creedmoor. I've bought 500off ELD Ms because they have been soooo good in my .308 and .300wm Sabattis. I would prefer to use RS powders, but as that is all going to put holes in Putin's followers I've bought 3 kilos of N555. I have got some N150, but as I'm starting from scratch it seems sensible to use the powder specifically produced for the calibre. I'll be starting the load development Saturday week in the 100 yard tunnel.
  9. Many thanks for that. It is a Sabatti with a 28" barrel. That presumably would give me a little more speed for the same charge?
  10. I now have my shiny new Sabatti STR FC chambered in 6.5 creedmoor, and following advice on here etc have bought 3 kilos of N555 and 500off 140grn ELD match bullets. The ELD match bullets performed outstandingly well in my .308W and .300WM Sabattis so are very much my go to bullet. Unfortunately load data seems a tad thin on the ground for this combination and VihtaVuori don't seem to even acknowledge the existence of this fine projectile, unless I'm missing something?
  11. 3.5 - 21 x 50mm Bushnells Elite Tactical DMR Rifle Scope. First Focal Plane in Milliradians. 34mm tube. I had this scope on my Sabatti STR .308 shooting out to 1000 yards where it performed extremely well. Can't knock it, but a 5-50x scope came up at a bargain price for the new gun which I couldn't resist, so this scope needs a new home. It will be sold with the Warne rings which are medium height and suitable for a picatinny rail Comes with lens covers but I can’t find the original box, I suspect it has been “tidied” £599 including DPD next day tracked carriage.
  12. .308 Forster Ultra Micrometer Seating Die. This die made a massive difference to the accuracy of my home loads. The only reason I am selling is because I have jumped ship to Creedmoor and have bought one of these in 6.5CM. It is less than year old and I paid £150 + shipping for it. I would like £110 including next day tracked delivery with DPD.
  13. I thought I had edited the post earlier - the Lapua bullets are provisionally sold, but if the sale falls through for any reason you will have first dibs 😃
  14. Unopened boxes of .30 cal bullets - I have joined the sheep and moved from .308 to 6.5 Creedmoor Lapua 167grn Scenars 2 x 100 off - £90 posted - SOLD Hornady ELD Match 168grn 3 x 100off - £150 posted Hornady ELD Match 178grn 2 x 100off - £100 posted
  15. I am starting from scratch with 6.5CM and need to buy a full set of dies. For all my other calibres I am using Forster seating dies and really rate them. For all the other dies I have Lee because I was persuaded by an RFD I since discovered not to be as reliable and honest as I previously thought. To be fair I can't say I have had too many issues with them and am still using the Lee quick release dies holding method in a Lee press which I like. There doesn't seem much available in Creedmoor after a quick google search, but then again what is in plentiful supply currently - certainly not primers. Although I haven't yet got the rifle, ideally need to sell my .308 first, I thought I would start the case prep work 😃
  16. I shot my .308 STR at Warminster IR2 1000yards on Saturday and was asking myself why I wanted to spend a load of money chopping it out for a new Creedmoor when it was going so well 😃
  17. Today I was just using Lapua Scenar 167gr. The ELD-M 178gr are better, but I have loads of Scenars loaded up 😃 RS52 powder …. And no I don’t have any spare 🤣🤣🤣🤣
