    Hi.

Does the sizer bump the shoulder as well as size neck?

Do these have bushing with them or are they compatible with Redding bushings?

    Thanks

Yes, its a FL sizer, no bushings as obviously depends on your (probably neck turned) brass thickness and final seated neck diameter as to what size bushing you need, and yes, they take Whidden or Redding bushings.

  3. Worth noting that not all physio tape/vet wrap/whatever its branded as is equal. I've used tons on various animal legs amongst other things, latterly on half a dozen pairs of quad sticks; short term they all appear to stick perfectly to themselves and leave zero residue when removed - longer term, some give up wanting to adhere to themselves and start falling off, others start leaching stickiness out of them.

Quickly fixed by...more vet wrap, so no real drama - just dont be surprised if one day you notice your tubes a bit sticky 😉

  4. I assume you mean extended rearwards for night vision? if so, I'm not sure such a thing exists, the longest rail I've seen is the Barton one, but thats extended forward and being 10moa is not reversible, also think the 527 action has some kind of cutout on the rear mount maybe?

Best bet is either some generic dovetail to picatinny riser/adaptor (try looking on Ant Supplies website), or have a decent pic rail machined to fit.

  5. I have all of the above. Haven't used the .22 for ages, favour my .25 Impact which is comfortable out to 80-90 yards if noise is an issue and its not windy. Hornet is rarely used atm as although I shoot a few hundred bunnies a year, its 100% night shooting and the HMR is less hassle (don't really enjoy reloading the hornet that much, and its factory 25"-odd is unwieldy) and more than adequate range-wise as I rarely need to shoot them over a 100 yards.

I'm about to get the hornet chopped to 20" which might make it more appealing but tbh I'm still not sure what gap it will fill for me personally. If I was shooting crows during the day I'd take my 204 every time.

Why not just use your 223 if you want to reduce guns? Dead is dead, a 40 vmax on a crow will probably mean you dont need to go and pick anything up, head shot rabbits will probably be salvageable depending what if anything you are doing with them afterwards. If you just fancy a change then fair enough :)

  6. Ideally need to measure case capacity as it can vary a lot between brands. QL default capacity for 6.5 swede is 57gr - based on that and your OAL, 39gr of H4895 gives an 84% fill, 2743fps and 52,600psi. Obviously, take this with a pinch of salt, I'm sure you're aware Hodgdons data gives a max load of 37.8gr.

At the ranges yesterday and returned these.
Standard Sako Quad varmit, Delta 6-24x42, front rest, rear bag.
Temperature 15 degrees, well in the car park anyway, wind changeable both in speed and direction up to about 8 mph.

First target Eley Tenex, 5 rounds.

    Second target RWS R 50,  5 rounds.

Whilst the Tenex gave the smallest group the R50 returned more consistent small groups.

Now if the wind would always blow my bullets in neat little holes, oh well.

    Was that 25 yards, 50 yards, 100 yards? :)
