  1. Oh if we’re doing airguns!!

Until I got the Vudoo I would have used my FX at 50 yards, I get something insane like a <5fps variance from it, sub12 .22

This is a 40 shot group from 25y to 60y off a tripod when I was getting dope from my Pard. I would shoot a different target to get the drop, then hold over on this one and fire 5 shots, walk back 5 yards and repeat

Obviously never going to shoot anything in the dark at 60y with a sub12, just couldn’t believe how accurate it was so kept walking back!

  2. looking good! Good glass makes a huge difference

In the end, It’ll be down to what the rifle likes

If I were shooting serious competition <100m and somewhere that allowed supersonic, then for me the R50 looks good.

However for 1/2 the price the SK rifle match is doing it’s job!

I didn’t have much time to play with the tuner at the range, however the issue I have with the Vudoo is that at 50y it’s just putting everything in the same hole and at 100y it was too hard to hold steady enough to know if it was me or the ammo. I definitely could have done with my old 10-60x for that and some sort of clamping device 🤣 I might make something up and hope that I get a calm day for the outdoor range

  3. Ok so I shot a bunch of 10 shot (because 5 can lie) groups today at 100y but please understand the following so you can get an idea of the conditions, basically I don’t think I am doing the rifle justice with these groups

1- I am knackered and had just shot my 6.5 for an hour and a bit doing some load tests so was tired before I started with the Vudoo which I only had with me on the off chance I had time, plenty of these shots could be user error.

2- I thought I would chuck my tuner on and have a play, so the SK Rifle Match target reflects this

3- I did not clean down / re- foul the barrel prior to shooting the R50 and centre-x, I also still had the tuner on when shooting these

4- Really struggled to get the Riton to parallax clearly at 100y

5- It was a poor choice of target to shoot at as could only see the black outer ring 🤣

Ok added the full size target img now so should be able to click to zoom and see the groups

One question re this rifle. I thought that the Vudoo 22 were specifically chambered for Lapua Centre-X, is that the chambering that you have on this rifle or does it have a different chamber?

    Regards

    JCS

    Hi,

It is a standard build from Vudoo, so it will most likely perform the best with a good Lapua round, Centre-X, Midas+ etc

However obviously SK is going to work well as well, if it's like this with Rifle Match I can only imagine how its going to be with the right batch of Lapua.

I prefer Rifle Match to Long Range as the LR were going super sonic on occasion, the same as my RPRR.

Some fantastic 50 yd groups there, I’d be well chuffed with those as well. Groupings like that are competition winners.

Now something controversial, barrel tuners reduce vertical spread, have you considered one here. May or may not work.

Thank you, the vudoo really is an outstanding piece of kit with so little effort needed!

I tried a tuner on my RPRR and managed to detune it pretty well and move my cold bore shot "around the clock"  but didn't manage to improve its grouping consistently, BUT I also haven't managed to spend any real time with it yet on a still day (or indoors). I haven't tried it on the Vudoo but potentially that top example could have been a one-hole with a tuner on (At 100!)

From what I have seen online, in person and from my own experience, I am an absolute believer in tuners for rimfire as long as the ammo is half decent to start with

  7. My experience is this:

I spent about 5 years fettling my Ruger Precision Rimfire into something which will usually shoot touching groups at 50 yards, if I size and sort my ammo it will shoot one hole groups (for the most part)

My vudoo came out of the box and put pretty much every round in the same hole at 50y (with Eley and two lots of SK)  and created some 1/2 MOA groups  at 100y, no effort required other than pulling the trigger.

The weight, build quality and smoothness of the action is something to behold, I always liked my RPRR and CZs but now they feel like toys.

You could use any R700 chassis that you want on the Vudoo and select from any R700 triggers as well.

I purchased the Vudoo as I had planned to shoot some of the 22 PRL matches this year as well as the main PRL matches and also join the long range rimfire club, but unfortunately plans have changed and I won't be able to travel (hence the sale) so for me its a lot of money to have in the safe for 100y plinking, at the same time if it doesn't sell at the price I want then I have no issue keeping it for the future, its just incredible.

If you have the cash and just want something that works, then I can highly recommend the vudoo, their customer service is also second to none.

If you're happy with 85% then get the Cz457 / Begara B14 / TicTac BUT if you do have the cash to splash and you don't,  you will always have that nagging feeling 🤣

    Just my 2cents!

These groups are not really me trying very hard either if I am honest! The 10 shots were pretty "rapid fire"

  8. Here are some hand picked ones that I bothered to measure, I have only briefly shot one target at 100y

I wouldn’t say it’s doing this consistently yet but clearly it’s capable.
I believe it needs 1000rnds minimum to be considered “run in” and I have not done any work in finding the ammo that it likes. These were SK Match as well I believe but might have been Long Range match

  9. WITHDRAWING FROM SALE

I keep looking at these targets and realising nothing else will get close and I'll never get another Vudoo for this kind of money.
