Would some kind soul do me a favour ?

I,ve just got a new computer which has windows 7 installed, and i dont think their is a new quickload for it yet, so i,m stuck.

I need some data for my 22-250 ackley. Its a 1 in 7" barrel at 28" long.

I want to shoot the berger 90 grain VLD, with a br2 primer, and whatever vhitavouri or hodgdon powder is available on quickload [getting any of the powders is no problem]

thank you.

Dave, get in touch with Julian, you will need to send your old QL back and it will then be replaced and updated for windows 7. I'm in the same boat as you, but haven't got round to sorting it out, I believe someone said it cost £15 ish

Sorry I can't help you out more.

Dave

I haven't the 90g VLD listed on my version (and it was upgraded in 09 from the states)

The heaviest Berger VLD on mine is the 80g

Obviously I dont know the 90 statistics or seat depth of your reamer - which affects pressure.

Ive run the 80 with a 28" barrel.

Vit 160 - 39g - 3213 FPS

H4831SC - 38.5g - 3139 FPS

RL19 - 38.5g - 3287 FPS

All above are MAX loads on my system.

Suggest 10% less as start point (or 15%) for the 90 grainers.

I think you may make 2900 to 3000 reasonably easily, alot will depend on how much of the bullet is seated, all above loads are 101% fill (so partial crush load)

You,re a diamond Andy, thank you.

I had a similar plan in my mind, but needed some hard data back-up.

Walt Berger e-mailed me today with a comprehensive list of powders etc, and apologies for taking a while....they are extremely busy. What a nice man, and a lovely e-mail.
