As above min to max load data for following bullet heads and powders

 

150 grain Hornady soft points with Varget and RL15

 

150 grain Speer boat tail soft points also Varget and RL15

150gr Hornady linterlock soft point

CCI 200 primer

43.8gr Varget powder

 

This load is not a hot one, off the top of my head its close to the minimum load given my hodgdons webside, gives average velocity of 2650fps not the quickest load but it shoots in the .3s though my tikka M55, fallow dont seem to like it either

speer manual no 13

lists

re 15 as max 49.0 grns compressed gives 2919 fps

min 45.0 grns gives 2683 fps

 

varget max 47.0 grns compressed gives 2856 fps

min 43.0 grns gives 2632 fps

 

 

there seems to be a point around 44 grns of varget that works for most people and other posts will give you more info

 

 

as for my own loads using 150 grn hornady soft point and nosler 150 balistic tips

 

44 .2 grns of varget in lapua brass with cci br primer this load also work for me with 155 grn sierra palma matchking

Hornady 150sp interlock. COL of 70.4mm did the trick for my rifle. Far away from the lands,

but still grouped under 2" at 300m (field) with 44gr N140. 44gr Varget is about the same.

43gr h335 also works well.

My favourite load in .308 is a lapua scenar 154gr with 47.0gr of Varget behind it.

 

Not too high pressure with plenty of velocity and in my .308s gives good accuracy out to 1,000 yds.

44gr N140 behind either 165gr gamekings or scenar 165 works well in my remmy loaded about 60thou off the lands

BBOB, you need to be aware that TRG owners tend to have loads which are generally 2-3grns more powder which work well in their rifles but tend to be extremely hot in more run of the mill kit, which is usually better served with around 43-44gr of Viht140, Varget or Reloader 15 with 155gr bullets in .308.

I run the 155 scenars set 12thou back with either 45.5gn of RE15 or 46gn of Varget with Lapua brass and CCI primers.
