Hornady 180 ELD-M quality

As the Berger Hydrid appears to be very scarce on the ground I have been looking at alternatives.

The Hornady ELD-M 180gr look good on paper but the reports of them not making it to the target are putting me off.

any recent reports of quality improving or are people still avoiding?

Accuracy can be really good..

I've blown up half a dozen 7mm 180s.

Some in my saum f open rifle and some in my 26 inch stalking snapshooting rifle..

I know some who's used the 208's in 30 cal in there 300wsm and never had a problem..

The 6.5 cal 147gr eldms can blow up too.

Thanks @No i deer

That’s really not good to hear. I want to use the rifle for deer as well so if the bullet doesn’t reach the target it’s a bad day in the office.

I think the 175gr ELD-X are too long for mag feeding in the SAUM built on a short action.

I could look at the 160 class but the ballistics just aren’t as good and one load would be a lot less messing about.
