terrierman
Hi. I’m thinking of getting a pmll 5-25-56. But will the ill. dial catch the bolt? The rifle is a LH Remington 700. Thanks.
MJR
No it won't in my experience. I run PMII's on several left handed bolt rifles including a custom Remmy clone action. You should be fine.
terrierman
Hi. Many thanks for letting me know. I wasn’t sure.
terrierman
I’ve tried one and it won’t work. The only way is to put on high mounts. Or bend the bolt handle. Anyone else tried??
brown dog
Not had a prob on l/h T3 or l/h AW; what's the issue - bolt handle or hand?
gazzarM1
Currently running a PMII on a lefty AT no issues at all ....though I am using a Tier 1 unimount
terrierman
When set up correctly on the rifle with medium rings the bolt just touch’s the ir dial. Using high rings would make the scope too high from the barrel. ??
brown dog
You must have your scope set quite far back on the rifle for the bolt handle to be fouling the illum turret - are you not getting bumped on the brow by the scope during recoil?! Unless there's a reason for having the scope so far back; 'normal' scope position on the rifle would put the zoom ring above the bolt handle -ish. If you can; I'd recommend moving the scope forward. Scotch_egg
I have seen Schmidt fit a blanking plate due to in interference on left hand bolt rifles. To be honest with the rise is competitive scope manufacturers I wouldn’t even consider that as an option now days.

Look at my pic - they're nowhere near colliding.

The 5-25X56 was never offered without illumination. It all depends on the rifle model a remmy 700 has 90 degrees of bolt throw compared to the 70 degrees of a Tikka T3. Look at the pic - the bolt throw is a bit irrelevant, the bolt is 1.5 inches behind turret in question Thinking on, the scope can only positioned like that with a rail. Terrier, do you have your scope on two-piece mounts?
terrierman
Yes. Two piece mounts. Warne. I have a 12-50x56 on another rem 700 and that’s fine. I don’t feel comfortable with the scope too far forward. Maybe I just have dodgy eyesight.
