Don`t get one cos they don`t last either, this is from today after removing the stock for a good clean. Need to get the guy in Surrey to start making a batch cos I reckon he could get a lot of custom if SSG69 owners see this pic. Unfortunately I cant attach the pic cos it is too large and I am not techy enough to reduce its size, but if anybody wants a pic they can pm me for one to whatsap or email. alpha1
I have owned my SSG 69 for ever I have no idea how many years. I have four magazines for it two 10 rounds that are no longer usable as the locking lugs broke off. Two 5 rounds that may be would still work. My problem was the usual the mag bottom stock plastic thingy was cracked. I fitted the Styria arms bottom metal and as far as I am concerned its the way to go. Works a treat accepts 5 or 10 round mags. I have just fitted a dedicated scope rail to accept picatiny/weaver mounts and replaced the Khales scope that came with it with a 30mm Vortex. Looking forward to getting on the range once this lock down is over.
beeb
The replacement mag well Bob refers to is the Accurizer. It is standard bottom 'metal' with with a steel pillar set into the action screw hole (front of trigger guard) preventing the plastic being crushed and cracked when torque is applied. It's a bit dear but nowhere near as expensive as the Styria bottom metal and it doesn't weigh 3lbs! https://www.seidler-waffen.at/buechsenmacherei/steyr-accurizer.html Edited April 5, 2020 by beeb typo correction

Nobody is expected to be 'business as usual' during these times. We were exploring options before Surrey Gunsmith's came up, so the two are in parallel

Dr. Strangelove
For anyone who's interested, a 3D model is currently being worked on. Once that's been finalised, it will get 3D printed to test fit and function. Once that's successful we'll go forward with production. Will update when we have more information. Ssg69-piv
Amazing, new to this site. I’ve had an ssg 69 piv for a while now and can’t bring myself to buy a styria ( or the long haired bank manager won’t allow it) really interested in both these options, please keep the updates coming. thanks

Dr. Strangelove
Hopefully the model will be finished this weekend and then it’s off to the 3D printers to be made in plastic. I’ve got original 5 and 10rd magazines to test the function of the initial plastic housing. Pics:
blueroll
Keeping my fingers crossed for this. I have two SSG`s and my Lad has one so we`re both hoping this works out.
Roy W
We have the manufacturer ready, so once the 3D model works and we have a CNC file format then they will go ahead. Material and numbers will depend on price, but we will be looking at Aluminium ones and probably getting a price for Titanium. I expect we will self fund a batch and sell them off between us, but Titanium ones, if they are feasable, will probably be 'pay up front'. We will keep you posted. Roy W
I think we'll take it one step at a time. These things have a danger of running away with themselves. Having done stuff like this before and taken people on their word 'I want one' etc etc and been lumbered with left overs, I think this may be a strictly limited run to start with, we both need one, and aren't doing it as a business venture. The problem is, everyone has grand ideas with somebody else's money! We will keep you all posted.

I have had both of my SSG`s re-barreled by Calum at PRS so I can assure you I will be ready to part with cash for my two, and my Lad will probably want one as well as he has seen what mine are like with Kreiger barrels on them. Dr. Strangelove
So the company (Make It Quick for anyone interested) emailed yesterday saying they were starting production. I don’t want to jinx it but hopefully it wouldn’t have taken too long so might be in the post already! If not, hopefully it’ll be out today and I might get it by the weekend.
