Ronin
Just completed this for a customer, who wanted a lightweigh accurate rifle to replace their Steyr Mannlicher, which had managed to create a stock of two halves...... Anyway, Tikka 590 donor action, slightly smaller ejection port than the 595 action, no detriment to rigidity and will extract loaded round, so no real issue. Action had the lugs lapped, the reciever face was fine and needed no work. Lothar Walther Sako Hunter profile barrel in 1-10 twist fitted, chambered in 308 Win and finished at 24" with M14x1 thread with protective cap. Standard Tikka Bottom "metal" and 3 round mag retained (though I had to machine a new action screw washer as the donor had one missing. Barrelled action coated in satin black cerakote, safety catch also refinished with same coating. Stock is Mcmillan Sako Varmint, which has been pillar bedded with Devcon. The rifle is very light and pointable, I believe the end user will be fitting a zoom scope from Swarowski and optilock mounts, so easiliy under 9-10 lbs. I really like giving these old classic stalking rifles and new lease of life. A few images
