Yesterday I had a bit of time so I thought i would make some rounds up ready to run the barrel in.wound the seater out to its max and the set screw.weighed first charge then pressed the first 180gr hybrid in.it pushed the bloody bullet in to far.i had to adjust the depth that the die was sat in the press to accommodate for the long bullets then proceeded to make some more.looking forward to getting it back.

What seating die are you using?

 

Redding do VLD seating stems for their seating dies I do believe.....

Redding bushing die and redding micrometer. What happens when you set up the seater as per instructions regarding sleeve not touching shell holder it is way way into far.

have you put the allan key in the top of the die to see if you can back out the seater stem to the max and then start dialing down.

Trigger squeezer hits the nail on the head Swaro. I had the same problem until I adjusted as he suggests.

Yeah I did that, I just backed the die out until I could use the whole of the micrometer adjustment but still had the alinment sleeve in use, I could of wound the seater in a bit but I couldnt see the point until I know the coal, ive made them quite long for now, my free bore is .220, what is yours and what oal is 180gr hybrid loaded.cheers swaro
