My new 3D printed 338LM can

Recommended Posts

  • 2 months later...

Talked to the designer , about his QD locking version , and the muzzle brake part is CNC made from hard SS 15-5 PH , then the printed can mounts onto it , looks good , they will be available soon , I want one to put on my PH M85 & maybe the RPR .

Being light , they will suit those 2 rifles well .

Not quite oomans, not quite. The technology in metal as opposed to plastic has been around for a while but it is only recently that it is being publicly talked about. There are four of those machines in the Sett workshop and they spend most of their time growing aerospace and medical components. The aerospace components are certified for flight and the medical components are now beginning to be implanted. When you consider how long certifications for both regimes takes, you'll realise it's not a new technology. The difference is that the early adopters of the technique have proven the benefits, locked down the manufcaturing process, got their patents in place and so now feel able to be a little more free with information. We'd wager that most of you who have flown in the last 5 years have done so on an aircraft carrying several printed parts, in some cases several hundred parts...
