David Hancock
The Howa Pic rail keeps working loose. What is the best glue I can use for a temp fix whilst I consider another solution ??
tackb
a mild Loctite on the threads might help and heating will remove it but to be honest that's not a great solution you really need to get the threads sorted out and good screws fitted and torqued , I've had all my rifles fitted with bigger screws , only the 300rum was an issue but I thought belt and braces ? The Gun Pimp
Try JB Weld - won't come off - I promise!
Akeld
Assuming threads on action and bolts are in good condition, try standard thread lock

terryh
David, Re. your 'glue' aka 'industrial adhesives' have a look through this: http://hybris.cms.henkel.com/medias/sys_master/catalogsync/9030422331422.pdf something like the 242 would be suitable. FYI the blue coloured Loctite's are medium strength, red are high. There is no reason you cannot put some Loctite between the underside of the rail and the top of the receiver, it will be doing the same job of, as you put it 'gluing' the parts together! Just make sure all the components are clean- you cannot stick oil to anything . Also the thread locking fluid takes time to go off and be sure you do not screw anything together with the bolt in place as some screw holes go right into the action.
