superdry
I've just picked up a cz 527 American 204. I've not shot it yet but like the feel of it. I'd read beforehand about the bolt handle hitting the scope eye bell. I could get higher mounts for it, but would prefer to keep it as close to the barrel as possible. There are some company's in the states that make modified bolt handles (lower profile and longer) I was wondering if anybody has managed to get hold of these modified handles? I've also read of guys grinding them, but I don't fancy that option. Any advise would be very welcome.
Andrew
I have the CZ 204 as well and I was not fond of the scope height needed to clear the bell. I have grown used to it though and no longer think about hacking on the handle. There is no easy fix for the CZ bolt. Grind it, bend it, or cut it off and weld on another or, the final option, leave it as it is. ~Andrew

I have one on my CZ 527 20 VarTarg, it came via a guy on the stalking directory but I believe he is on here too. I will PM you his email address, I believe he bought them in as a one off but may be able to help you further. A I'll get back to you if I don't have any joy with a replacement handle. As it is now it's useable, missing the scope by by a midges. I shoot mostly at night and there's no way I can get the adapter for my add on on . I'm not sure machining is going to get me where I want to be though. deeksofdoom
James Calhoun in the States specialises in this sort of thing you could contact him and see if he will be any good to deal with. http://www.jamescalhoon.com/pricelist.php I have a CZ527 varmint laminate in .223 I have a DIPinc .20moa rail on it with 1 Inch High Burris Xtr rings, so no problem with bolt clearance of the scope. http://www.diproductsinc.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=967999&CAT=3600 Had to raise the comb by making a comb raiser out of some cow matting but it works well. buddy.223
I ground down mine finished it with fine wet, dry cold blacked it looks like new took less than an hour, its an easy fix as the handle is so easily removed from the bolt ive a duralyt 3x12x 50 with warne meds on the lam varmint - scope sits 1/8" above the bore and the handle clears the chunky eye bell.
