treetop
Disagree... 2 cracking rifles I have personal knowledge of : Sig 522 S&W mp1522 The sig is the mini version of its big brother, The mp1522, is polymer, but other than being lightwight, it gives the same feel & report of its big brother, will feed anything inc subs, Both can have upgraded AR trigger springs, ( I have Jp yellows in mine )
treetop
Just to add, Sig uses black dog mags... Mp15/22 uses its on mags, Has working bolt release, & hold open ( without the mag in like most of the others )... I have the standard one ( modified by me ) over 1500 rnds without cleaning... Only ever jammed once ! ( stove pipe) on the 1st mag it ever had from out of the box ..... Never missed a single beat .... the performance centre version , doesn't like subs ! MrCetrizine
I think you can also get a CMMG for less than £1000 and that will take a standard .223 upper if you want an upgrade later.

John MH
S&W MP 15/22 can be improved with some AR aftermarket parts. The CMC trigger fits as do many others and the stock trigger can be improved with JP Spring kits for as little as £10.00. CMMG are good value but may need a little polishing and tuning to get the best out of them. If you want something very accurate and reliable then a BAR22 or similar is the way to go. Alan17hmr
Hello I had the same idea of a fun gun in 22lr I bought the Anschutz msr the slab sided top spec one Not a lot you can add to this rifle and long horrible trigger pull Now had the Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 performance I couldn't stop passing it for others to have a go last Sunday at mattersey Must have put 450+ rounds through it in a couple of hours Total clean down and out again tonight and a rabbit at 120 yards I recommend the smith highly Alan xxx

Dac9976
A guy at my club has. I've played with it and it's a very solidly built thing. A proper AR in .22lr Thanks mate. Didn't realise there was so much choice in the " black rifle" market:) Need to get some hands on with some of these or I'll be buying blind! Anymore feed back would be very much appreciated Cheers Danny.
MrCetrizine
It's a shame you aren't further north. The East Midlands regional range http://emrr.org.uk has many in stock to have a stroke of.

1in9
Now had the Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 performance I couldn't stop passing it for others to have a go last Sunday at mattersey Must have put 450+ rounds through it in a couple of hours Total clean down and out again tonight and a rabbit at 120 yards I also have an S&W M&P 15-22 performance centre, it's sewing machine reliable and of all the .22 AR-a-likes I tried it had by far the best trigger. The other big thing going for them is the proprietary last round bolt open mechanism is 100% reliable, unlike some of the AR conversions, my CMMG shooting mates are always fiddling with their BHOA units. Mine run's Lapua subsonics no problem
