Yup,

Watched it too - didn't look good in the early stages when the TI showed him in a spin, had me on the edge of my seat - bloomin good ending.

Balls of steel.

(The bloke who did it in the 60s with 60s kit? Blimey, tungsten carbide balls!)

The last time I was glued to a live screen like this was waiting for the mars rover to land and send back pics :D

This was fantastic, getting ready at the door of the open capsule, the jump, the spinning at high altitude, the speed!, and a safe ending, it had it all.

i believe its been confirmed he has broken 4 records

highest manned ballon flight

highest freefall jump

fastest freefall speed of 706mph

highest youtube live views with over 7 million

he didnt however beat the record for the longest freefall flight

i guess the picture of him standing on the platform of his capsule just before he jumped will become iconic

I saw it on the news this morning, very brave man indeed. After he jumped what would have happened to his capsule and balloon would they just keep going up and end up as space junk or was there some mechanism to bring them back down?

I understand the height it achieved was a floating height so it didn't go up any further.

I believe it came back by parchute.
