A Mk V even. The nomenclature of British small arms was changed and updated on 31st May 1926, List of change announcements ss A1635 -A1690. Whilst the Mk III and Mk III* we're redesignated Rifle No. 1 Mk III and Rifle No. 1 Mk III* the Mk V was not so redesignated, probably because it was only a trials weapon and by that time had been superseded. I would get out more often but ... -
