Never had any runners off the .204, had more off the 22-250 both using Vmax.

    Nobody will believe you mate😉, a 22cal must kill a fox better, it's bigger😯

I’m talking about little bullets wounding foxes for others to find.. perplexing I know

Are you talking about little bullets that come out of the end of a 17hmr or little bullets from a centerfire??

Under 300 yards there is little to choose between 204 and 223,   I use a 20BR downloaded to around 204 levels,  over 300 yards wind drift is usually less than the same weight of bullet in 223 but 223 is able to fire much heavier bullets if needed.  Horses for courses.

    A

I remember reading your post about having your 20br built, wasn't it because you missed a fox through misreading the range, hence wanting a rifle shooting the flattest bullet, why download a 20br when you especially wanted one of the flattest rounds possible for your fox shooting!!

The nothing but a bunch of scamming qunts 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

If I was you I wouldn't be waiting till the 5th march, I'd phone them again tomorrow and tell them you've put it back in post to them 1st class and if you haven't got the full payment back in your account by friday you'll be phoning trading standards.

    Deary me 🙄.

I recently found I got scammed.

I ordered a free sample of something and had to pay p&p on it and they used my bank details and took nearly £400 out my account..

So say after ordering the sample near the end of december I didn't cancel some poo agreement I new nothing of and took nearly £200 out my account and it wasn't spotted..

My Mrs asked me the other day looking at February's statement had I spent these 2 amounts of money on things and I said no...

We worked out then where who had helped themselves.

Them qunts had been and had another nearly £200 out.

Got on the phone too the bank and and explained things and was told no more will get taken out and I had to ring this company and ask for my money back..

I did the next day.. too my surprise somebody answered the phone and I demanded my money back and they kept saying about this agreement thing and I said I would of never under any circumstances agreed to any of these terms and I want my money back..

I told them I spoke to the bank and and no more money will be taken out my account and I want my damned money back..

She got around to saying we could repay only the last lot but not the first..  I said you can have the stuff back and I want all my money back..

In the end she they will put the £200 that they took February back in my account by the 5th March.

    We will see 🤔.

I've got to ring the bank back in 10 days or so to continue will the complaint hopefully so they can get all my money back 😡😡😡😡

They'll probably be long gone by the 5th march, parasites.

It’s very difficult to spot scammers.

    2. Don’t invite an unknown to your home.

Yep there's some real scumbags out there, not firearm related but about a year ago my wife's uncle who's in his 80's and is still driving came out of Sainsbury's to be greeted in the car park by some lowlifes who said he'd reversed into their car and demanded a lot of money, he knew he hadn't so got in his car and drove home, unbeknown to him they followed him home,  next thing he was being marched up his path and bundled into his house, he was made to get his building society books then driven to the town and taken in to draw out around £3000!! and all the time to scared to do anything.

I will try a little higher as long as accuracy isn’t affected, my cases and primers aren’t damaged in any way with the above loads.

I'm sure you'll be ok going more, just be aware of pressure signs, and also when you settle on a load you could try different bullet seating depths, mine likes a jump to the lands.

Did you shoot a group with the 25.6 load while putting through a chronograph?

  8. 2 hours ago, GT3_richy said:

Is that from the Sierra book? Viht give a max load for N133 and 40vmax as 25.3gr on their app, dunno where my Sierra book is but dont recall N133 being listed for 204.

I honestly can't remember where my load data came from, had it a few years, written down in my book, but you're right, I've been looking and same as you can't find much else apart from vhit's 25.3 max for 40grn vmax.

I will carry on using 26.8grns with hbn coated bullets though, as I get good speed and great accuracy and no pressure signs with that load.

Maybe you best stop where you are g4zz just to be on the safe side😃

  9. You can't beat putting your rounds through a chronograph to see what's going on .

    25.2.    3540 av fps

    25.4.    3551 av fps.   +11 fps

    25.6.    3660 av fps.   + 109 fps

Big jump with that extra .2 of a grn.

you're only .2 of a grn over start load at 25.6 , so if it was me and pressure all seems fine I'd load some more batches jumping up .2 of a grn and see how they group, shoot the lower grain loads first you can allways pull ones you don't want to shoot if a batch starts showing pressure!!

But if you're happy where you are with the accuracy and speed leave it there.

Well I finally made some loads up and gave them a go.
here are the results using: Norma cases, N133, Br4 primers and 39grn Sierra Blitzking.

Looks promising mate, have you decided where to go from there? Or are you done?

    Hi Bob

I have Tikka T3 lite 20 inch sporter so will no doubt loose a hell of a lot of velocity. Funny you mention the BR4 primers as that’s what I have but as far as brass goes I can only get Hornady

It will be interesting to see what fps you get with your load with the 20"barrel, mines 24"and both my loads with vn530 and vn133 give me similar velocity around 3800fps, i found the rem 71/2 primers more consistent than br4's.

You should be able to get Norma or nosler brass for the 204 but it's not cheap 😕, I bought 300 Norma cases with my rifle and I'm hoping they'll see the barrel out!!

  13. I was getting great accuracy with 26.8 grns of vn133 with hbn coated 39 grn s/b/k doing just shy of 3800 fps, im using vn 530 at the moment but will go back to vn133 when that's  used up as there seems to be a  lot more pressure with 530 !!

26.8 grns vn133 was quoted at 3900fps with naked 39grn sbk's but I don't think you'll get that, a lot depends on barrel length, what rifle do have a barrel length?

Work your load up, and br4 or rem 71/2 primers with thicker cup will be a good idea in the 204, although I was using fed gold medal primers with the vn133 with no problems, but vn530 is a different matter!!

    Good luck
