Gentelmen, I'm starting my adventure with 300 PRC and need your hepl. Most US load data are based on Hodgdon powders and I'm wondering which VV powders should I try for 185/200/225 gr class bullets? Gentelmen, I have a question regarding Victrix Target V in .308Win for FTR. It has two barrel options: 1/11 – 30” and 1/10 - 32”. I'm wondering which bullets are they optimized for? I guess 1/11 for 185 Jugg and 1/10 for 200.20X? I'm wondering why are there is no 1/10 - 30" option? TIA!

Check out Sabatti. Their 11.5 twist 308's are extremely accurate with both 185 Bergers and 175 Sierras/Scenars. Like 0.3MOA accurate.... Michal

Gentelmen, I'm going to build my first custom rifle for F Open. After consideration I chose .284Win, not the fashionable magnums as I want to have decent barrel life and brass availability. I plan to use a Joe West stock, but I have a problem with the action. I'm in Europe, and pretty much nothing's available. I planned to go Barnard, but there was no shipment in 2 years now, and the company seems shut (not even the website works). American actions are nonexistent also. It has come to the point that people are actually building custom rifles based on T3X Tikkas... Question to the F Open guys - how much a difference does action really make wnd what would you choose nowadays? TIA, Michal

Just to update you on my progress. Unfortunatelly, I couldn't find the time for regular training required to shoot proper prone. BUT! I took the rifle (in KRG Bravo chassis now to keep the "cheap" theme alive) to an F-Class competition and won both 600m and 1000 yards matches. You should see peoples faces The rifle shoot's 0.2-3 MOA at 100, 0.3-4 MOA at 300 (best target from 300m below) and 0.5-6 MOA at 600m. In the competition I mentioned I got 0.647MOA at 600m 10 shot group. The load is with 80.5 Bergers and N140 at around 2800FPS from a a factory (!) 24" Tikka barrel. Outstanding if you ask me. 223Rem is a very competent cartridge. Michal

Laurie is right, as always. Don't be afraid of .223. It is competitive up to 600m, and if youre lucky with the wind can cause some consternation even at 1000y Michał

Gentelmen, I need your advice once again. I got a new rifle - Sabatti TLD in 6.5x47L. I took measurments of the fired brass and to my surprise the neck on the fired case is only 0.001" larger in diameter than a loaded round... As I'm shooting factory rifles I'm used to much more clearance. I know tight chambers are or were popular in BR, but I'm not sure regarding LR. What kind of clearance are you using? Should I turn the necks? TIA, Michał

Gentelmen, how do you prep cases for a prolonged storage? I bought a lot of once fired brass that will last me for years, should I just tumble and dry or would you use any lube/chemicals to prevent oxidation? TIA! Michal

Gentelmen, I have acquired a Sabatti TLD in 6.5x47L I plan to shoot in F Open. I have 136L & 139 Scenars and 140 Berger Hybrids - which VV powders should I try? Any pet loads that usually work in most rifles? TIA, Michal

Those are some fine groups! 300 Norma Mag seems a great calibre, the lack of factory rifles stopped me from getting one. Mine 338LM just came in CZ for scale, it's "substantial"

One more question - what kind of accuracy/group size should I expect?

What do You guys think about Delta Optical Stryker 5-50? It has 100MOA elevation range. Any experiences with it?

Hello, I'm getting a .338LM for long range competition - it's a Savage 110 Elite Precision. The rifle has 20MOA rail built in. Now I'm wondering about what scope and mount to get for it. I do have a Vortex Golden Eagle I initially planned to put on it, but after doing some calculations I figured out I need ~70MOA of elevation @1 mile, and I would like to be able to shoot 2000m (~100MOA?). Vortex GE only has 55MOA of elevation travel... I do like high magnification optics. What would You suggest? What do You use? TIA, Michal

Gentlemen, I have acquired a Savage 110 Elite Presicion in 338 Lapua Magnum. I will collect it in a couple of days, but want to start preparing for load development. The rifle has a 30" long 1 in 9 twist barrel. I plan to test 250 and 300gr Scenars and Bergers, but I'm wondering which "European" powders to try first? Most recommended loads I see are based od H1000, which I have no way to source. What loads are you using? Plan is to compete at 800-1600m. TIA, Michal

It fits the neck, but rests on the cartridge shoulders and powder spills around the neck... I would have to shorten it to get the seal.

Dear All, I'm just starting to reload 300 WSM for F Open competition. I'll be using Norma brass, Lovex S070, VV560 & Re17 powders, 185-215 gr bullets, Redding Competition dies. Can You share Your loads to get me started? Also, what powder funnel are You using? My Lee doesn't match the 300WSM neck... TIA, Michal

What is the case fill? With RS62 and 147ELD @2,80" I get compressed loads around 43 grain.

Update - I'm in the proccess of ordereing a Sabatti simikar to one I've been shooting in 308. Will update if/when the rifle will be ready.
