  1. I've just picked up my new F Open from Neil, on a Barnard P action with a Joe West stock, if only I'd waited I'd have saved a ton of money 🤣 Neil does outstanding work, whoever gets this is getting a bargain and a great stock.
  2. I was there on 28th July, there was a classic car festival being held (50's American POS's!!) I guess to raise revenue for the NRA, we clearly don't pay them enough !! They were close to the 600 firing point....... handy no one was shooting on the 600........ coincidence the system was "broken" ? !!! I must subdue the conspiracy theorist in me !!
  3. I had a problem with my Vortex Golden Eagle (which I got on eBay). On my FClass TR 308 it needed 10 MOA more adjustment to get me from 300 to 600 than all the ballistic calculators said it needed, the issue got worse from 600 to 1000. After posting on here to get folks thoughts I contacted Vortex customer support, they took me through a few basic tests, agreed something was off and put me in contact with the UK Importer. I sent it back to them, they took one look and said the rings had been over tightened and had damaged it (not by me !!) They sent me a new scope, at no cost to me, which I had back in under a week. Great service and gives me confidence in buying more Vortex kit.
  4. As a follow up to this. I contacted Vortex, after a few tests they wanted me to do, they agreed something was off with the scope. I returned it to the Vortex UK importer, they looked at it, saw it had damage and agreed to replace it for a new one at no cost to me. Shows the Vortex VIP warranty is as good as the claim. New scope on the rifle, tested at 50, 100 & 300 yards, waiting for Bisley to get their longer range electronic targets working to test at 600 & 1,000.
  5. CZ455 Laminated Thumbhole Stock, 16” Varmint Heavy Barrel As can be seen from the photos it’s in great condition, only used on a range, never in the field. I’ve fitted the Rimfire Magic trigger spring to it, which makes it break crisply at 1lb 11oz It comes with a 0 MOA Britannia picatinny rail a 5 round mag & original box. I’ve owned this from new (2017), I’d estimate it has had 500-750 rounds through it. Scope & bipod are not included in this price. Very accurate, lovely smooth & quick action. Only selling as I’m focused on Benchrest and F Class now and this is not getting used much. I’m in North Wilts, happy to do a transfer in person or a RFD transfer at your cost. £250
  6. On Sunday I posted this"- Consensus reply was 10 MOA is correct for my bullet/speed/distance so check scope as it is likely duff. Today I was able to make it to a 100y range and do a tracking test, rifle firmly supported in my benchrest front rest and rear bag, with a target at 100yards with clear 1 inch boxes on it. Zoomed in to 60x, each 8 clicks of adjustment on the scope moved it 1 inch on target, did this for a total of 32 clicks up and down, moving it 4 inches in total. The GE scope has 1/8th MOA adjustments, so it seems it is fine. Thoughts ?
  7. Thanks all, seems the consensus is a scope issue, I'll get down to my local range and have a go at locking down the rifle and see what is going on.
  8. Well maybe I am a bit of a Muppet, I misremembered, it is a 20 MOA rail. At 300 yards I'm 13 MOA from the bottom of scope adjustment, I see similar results when I go from 600 to 1,000, don't have the data on that right now, need another trip to Bisley to get it.
  9. Looking for wisdom or someone that might have seen the same thing. I’m shooting a Dolphin F/TR in 308, with a Vortex Golden Eagle (MOA) on a 20 MOA rail. I’m using Berger 185 Jug and 200.2x bullets. Pushing them out at 2,610 & 2,600 respectively. I’m sighted in at 300 yards, putting all the data into a ballistic calculator to get me to 600 yards it says I need to come up 10 MOA. The problem is this doesn’t even get me onto the target, to get me there I have to put another 10 MOA on, so a total of 20 MOA. The scope is 1/8th click, I’m putting on 174 clicks (174/8= 21.75 MOA) to get me on the paper. I’m not a total Muppet, I’ve done this same adjustment on my 260Rem, 338 LM and 223 and the Ballistic calculator always gets me on the paper. I’m using StrelokPro & Ballistic AE, both give similar adjustments. I'm thinking either the Berger BC’s are way of, or my scope is funky (when I’m on target I’m getting sub 0.5 MOA groups) Thoughts ?
  10. K&M Low Force Pack for their Arbor press and correct Dial Indicator to go with it. I got this as a complete kit (with standard force pack) and never needed to use this low force one, so putting it up for sale. £100 plus postage, or I am at Bisley on a regular basis, so can bring it with for collection. This is my first post for sale here, hope I have followed the rules, if not admins please let me know what I did wrong !
