  1. I shoot the .338 Norma Magnum…only 6% less case capacity than .338LM.

I use RS80 with 300gn Scenars. It’s an excellent powder, very accurate loads, easy to achieve consistently tiny SDs and has a nice recoil impulse.

It is double based but I’d say a relatively mild double base, around 3,800joules, so shouldn’t destroy throats as badly as the N5xx series of powders which do kane barrels.

  2. Keith Glasscock (another serious F class shooter) did some primer seating depth testing and found it doesn’t make a difference either.

I personally use the 21st century hand held click primer tool. Granted it’s a bit slower than a bench mounted tool but it’s precise (whatever that’s worth!), is light and saves space on the bench for my Henderson trimmer. Now THAT is worth the money!

  3. I’m on the look out for a F class stock.

I really like the low rider style of the Cerus, Masterclass and x-ring stocks.

My preference would be wood laminate - they're hardwearing, appear to have good resonance properties and I like the aesthetics of fancy wood.

It’ll be for a Kelbly Golden Bear and will need an adjustable cheekpiece and a RAD 2a recoil system.

I'm not a fan of the GRS stoks, or anything that has finger grooves on the pistol grip. And I don’t know why, but I’ve not really liked Joe Wests offerings. Maybe I’m being a bit of a bell-end about that?! If someone has experience of Joe Wests stocks, I’d appreciate some thoughts on them.

And then there’s Dimas - some of which I like the look of but not all. But due to some complete tosser in Moscow, they’re not coming in anymore.

Any suggestions, other than Cerus, Masterclass and X-ring?

    Cheers

Sure can, I bought 5,000 of them, all in the standard 1000x cardboard boxes all other Lapua bulk comes in.

I’ll update the ad with a photo tomorrow.

    cheers 👍

Photos attached, the sealed boxes with lot numbers.

I actually forgot they come in 500x count cardboard boxes, with individual 100x plastic boxes inside.

Price is still the same, £695 for all 1,000x or £347.50 for 500x.

Note that the opened plastic box is NOT from the bullets I’m selling but are HbN coated and what I use.

The cardboard boxes with bullets for sale are still sealed, untouched and uncoated.

  5. Yup, I bought a Frankfort arsenal rotary tumbler (large one) from them this time last year.

It was about 30% cheaper than any U.K. distributor and had a proper 230v U.K. plug.

The shipping was a little slow, but I think it just happened to coincide with some courier strike action on the continent at the time. Not their fault. But when I queried it with them, their support was spot on and quick.

Show us how you have set up your Shotmarker System.

This one fits in the back of my Nissan Navara. Can be set at 12 Inches off the deck or 4 Feet off on a Steel Target Company HD Target Stand.

As a club, we’ve been discussing whether we could do the same but on MOD ranges that use target boards.

Do you know of any issues Landmarc or MOD might have with bringing our own target frames and shot marker sensors pre installed?

    Cheers

  7. When I got my last gun through from the US a couple of years ago, I had to go through the above shenanigans.

    Before everything was shipped, I had the exporter arrange for the following items to be laser etched with unique serial numbers;

    - action

    - bolt and spare bolt

    - Barrels 4x

These are all listed on my FAC with their unique numbers (eg D1234 on action, D1234(1) bolt, D1234(2) spare bolt, D1234(B1) barrel 1, etc).

A faff, completely silly and pointless, but the law is sadly an ass!

But I too have many spare barrels chambered by U.K. smiths. None of those have serials, just ‘spare barrel’ or ‘NVN’ in the serial column. I think the whole individual serialised bit ONLY applies to components being imported.

  8. A few years ago, I copied these plans for use with my RCBS Rockchucker Supreme single stage press. It’s basically replicating the old Wamadet presses of old.

    https://precisionrifleblog.com/2012/11/12/portable-reloading-press-plans/

Easy to make, I used 18mm sheet ply and it is rock solid and portable - does weigh a tonne though. I’ve used it to f/l size .338 brass without issue. And despite being a slight rearward angle, it produces very accurate ammunition with good concentricity and low run out.

Mine was perfect for easy pack down and storage after a reloading session.
