  1. I use the 130 TMK. I've had great results with them in my 6.5 CM.

But I've only used them for target shooting.....

I have to agree with what others have said. If you're more of a hunter than a target shooter, you will save very little, as you can't be shooting that many rounds a year compared to a target shooter.??

  2. Hi folks,

I've been reloading for around 7 years now, and learnt an awful lot. Not withstanding there is still an awful lot to learn....

Recently, I've come across a "You-Tuber" by the name of Eric Cortina. Apparently he's a Pro US Shooter, who shoots nationally for the USA through the Lapua Brand in F Class.

I've watched a lot of his videos, and they seem, (to my low knowledge of long range) ,to make a lot of sense.......

But the one thing I can't get my head around is expanding the neck on a fully neck prepped rifle case. Anything from 6mm to 7mm. Fully necked prepped, and sized case. That's already had the necks chamfered and de-burred.

I've never heard of expanding the necks of cases just prior to powder drop then bullet seating. Is this less common over here in Europe. Or more common in the states?

And is there much more benefit from doing this, and by roughly how much of the neck is best expanded???

    Any constructive help appreciated....

    Chaz.

  3. I have a Tikka TAC 1 in 6.5 Creedmoor, and would like the bolt fluted. Just a basic flute design. And the fluting left in steel to contrast with the black bolt.

Would I just need to get the bolt delivered to the RFD?

And what would I be looking at as regards cost??

    Anyone?

    PM me if needs be??

    Cheers

  4. I found good results in my Tikka T3, 1 in 8  twist with Lapua brass, 55 V-Max bullets, Fed Gold primers, and 25.1 grains of Viht N135! Averaging on the Chronograph at 3200 ft/s.

It was my general purpose round for quite a few years, but I've switched over to N133 and 53 grain V-Max, now i can get hold of them!!. I'm more or less happy with the load. With the same velocity as the 55, at 3200 ft/s. Just need a bit of work on the seating depth and it'll be sorted.

  5. I've been using N135 for my Tikka T3 1 in 8 for numerous years.

I haven't got the COAL, but the bullet was only a few thou from the lands.

The load was N135 at 25.1 grains, Fed Gold primer, Lapua brass, and a 55 grain Hornady V-Max. And got 3250 fps.

Suits me, may not suit others.

    Good luck!

    • I have a Tikka TAC 1 in 6.5CM, 1 in 8 twist. I've had great success with Viht N150 with Sierra 130 TMK and Lapua 139 OTM Scenar
    • I've also had good results with Hornady 143 ELD-X.
    • The Sierra 130 TMK, and 139 Scenar were easy to work up a good accuracy node.
    • The 143 ELD-X was a right pain in the arse, but eventualy i found an accuracy node.
    • All were around 2800 fps. I want to get decent barrel life.....
    • I hope that helps a little......

  6. I was in search of the new alloy made magazines made very well, put put together. They're a 10 shot mag that fit standard, and fit Tikka standard lower mag wells. My request went unanswered, and "Black Rifle" showed them as out of stock at that time. I  thought i'd give Pete a call anyhow, and he did me a good deal on an ex demo mag he had. That looked like new to me... He went out of his way to help. And i went ahead and bought the magazine. The quality has to be seen to be believed. And I've used quite a few mags from all makes! I won't give it a second thought where i'll go when i want another another mag!

    Cheers Pete!
