    Agreed, I bought one. Thought it was best to have it professionally installed, so I had mine fitted by baldie (Valkyrie Rifles) on here. Excellent service, not too expensive to be fitted (well worth the cost).

    Using the normal spring (not the lighter one) out of the box with no other adjustments made it was 1.75lb trigger pull.

    I’m still learning seven or more years on , especially with the 223 regarding neck wear on well used brass , had to go one size smaller on the neck bush lately so think the brass might be wearing thin also primer pocket is getting easier to squeeze new primers into so might be new brass time soon .
    berger and hornady manual s have good info regarding reloading and Laurie did a video reloading with Rosie which was fun .

    155s with 46 grain of n140 or 42.5 grains of n135

    175 and 185s with 44.5 grain of n150

    loaded to 2.234 “ cbto case base to ogive or round about the 2.85” overall length work for my barrel . Start at 2.8” to get the best load for speed and accuracy then play with seating depths  . As always work upto your favourite loads from lower levels . Upto 600 y is relatively easy but the 1 k mark is much tougher with the 308 . Enjoy

    Happy to be corrected, but I believe this is awarded personally by the Monarch and not based upon government lobbying.

    Either way, a system out of touch with the majority of the population. I doubt the petition will achieve anything tbh, but I feel I’ve had my say at least.

    Over 400,000 and rising have had their say, however, I agree it will accomplish nothing other than to to let them know that the masses are pissed off that the scumbag Blair has been knighted.

    I know Daryl (excellent shooter [he also shoots for Accuracy Internal in the .50 cal competition in the USA]), he is (now) in the heavy gun class for benchrest (now shoots a 6BRA). In fact, I am now using the front sled in that picture on my AT. Daryl's 6BRA managed a sub one inch group at 600yards which earned the Screamer patch at Diggle.

    So at present the demo ATX rifles being used in the states are prefix 20 (these use the standard AT action that is across the board now in all their weapons other than MC actions

    I've just rebarrelled two rifles prefix 14 and the other 12 - they shot superbly right up until the time their barrels were toast and needed replacing

    I had an 07 (2007) Prefix AW that went on to win the Benchrest small group (factory rifle) accolade - (not in my ownership)

    From what you’ve just posted about serial numbers you are saying that 03 (2003) built rifles shot better than 2005 (05) ?

    just trying to get my head around the thought process that a 2005 barrelled action may shoot any different to any other date and those rifles will have been barrelled using Lothar Walther tubes by the way at that date period

    Interested in how an AI can complete in factory benchrest (since until the new AT-X, they didn't make their own barrels). I shoot at Diggle and all AIs are in either light gun or heavy gun, the only AI which will be allowed to compete in the factory class if the new AT-X.

  6. AT isn't available from the factory with a 6.5CM barrel, although I am sure that someone like Sporting Services (Accuracy International - Rifles – Sporting Services) or Valkyrie Rifles (Valkyrie | Performance Rifles Home (valkyrierifles.net)), would provide one with a non factory 6.5CM barrel.

    AT308 (accuracyinternational.com)

    However, the new AT-X is available from the factory with a 6.5CM barrel.

    Hi there above info regarding the comp trigger and my review from sporting services. It’s expensive at £550 but very very good .

    Agreed does seem quite expensive (especially compared to the TriggerTech in my Remington 700), although is it easy to fit at home? However, by the time I have travelled and paid someone to adjust my trigger, it may be easier to fit the AT trigger.

    In Lincolnshire if you have more than 5 rifles / shotguns it’s a requirement to have a monitored alarm , and as again with Lincolnshire if you don’t do it … no ticket.

    this came in about 2 years ago now .  There are 3 tiers of security, They call this one level 2 .

    Is this more a local force making up its own rules?

    The AXSR rifle has its own trigger specifically designed for it and it has not yet been tested in the AX MKIII so we cannot advise if the AXSR Trigger will work effectively with the AX MKIII (as the AXSR is slightly different from the AX MKIII).

    The " AI Competition Trigger" is a different trigger and is fitted as standard in the new AT-X rifles and is available as an aftermarket trigger for the AT / AX models..  However the "AI Competition Trigger" should not been used on the AX MKIII rifles as the safety catch set up is different on the AX MKIII (AR Style) from the traditional AT / AX rifles (shroud mounted safety) and it may not function correctly.

    The AI competition Trigger #C-XTSP003 and the AXSR Trigger #C-XTSP002 are manufactured by the US company called XTSP.

    The standard Triggers fitted to AW / AE/ AX and AT rifles are manufactured by AI in the UK.

    I have a 2014 AT and am considering having my trigger lightened. What is the pull on the new AI Competition Trigger?

    Thank you.

  10. I have a Remington 700, .223 (in an MDT stock) with a 20 inch barrel and I use the following (works in my rifle, don't now about yours):

    Lapua brass;

    CCI 400 primer;

    69gr Sierra Matchking bullet;

    25grains of Vihtavuori N140;

    The above gives an average of 2811 ft/s

    You could start the load development from here:

    Rifle reloading data | Handloading | Rifle calibers | Centerfire Rifle bullets | Reload your own ammo - Vihtavuori

    For comparison, using the above components but with different power weights, I obtained the following velocity on my chronograph:

    24ge=2683ft's

    24.5gr=2758ft/s

    25.5=2847ft/s

    I have shot this rifle/load out to 600 yards.

  11. Usual disclaimer rules apply, i.e. this works in my rifle (Remington 700 SPS with 20 inch barrel (1 in 9 twist), Triggertech trigger (1.5lb) and MDT stock ). I use 69gr Sierra Matchking, Lapua brass and 25grs of Vihtavuori  N140 and shoot out out to 600 yards, velocity at barrel is 2811ft/s (average).

    For comparison (using Vihtavuori N140 (measured using my chronograph): 24grs = 2683ft/s, 24.5grs = 2758ft/s and 25.5grs  = 2847ft/s

    A couple of images from the load development and a 600 yard benchrest competition (using a bipod). As can be seen the average velocity for 5 shots at 600yards at the target was 1421ft/s.

    There is someone at Diggle who used a Remington 700 .223 (AI chassis) to shoot the 1000yard benchrest competition (factory class) last year and won their class on the day.
