  1. Id try to look for something similar to what i managed to get ( i prefer nightforce ) a chap on here was selling a new 8-32 x56 zero stop / high speed turret , it was a replacement under warranty but they no longer made the 42x which he wanted , i got it for 1500 but it retail at 2300 from shops . A great scope at really great price . I do own a 5.5-22x56 a 2008 nsx  too . They used to be the go to extreme scope manufacturer years ago but today theres many top manufacturer to choose - its a nice decision to make no ? Learn / study - choose;)

  2. Nice wheels , i like them claas tractor the 950/960 are big buggers , i help out at harvest on a farm with a claas 740 lexion on terra-trax but dont drive that lol im grain carting in an old mercades mb-trac 1100 . Love it . Wish i could drive something newer . Id been in my mates new holland T8 .390  its on of the biggest tractor iv seen . Claas are the old Renault manufacturer i believe

  3. First outing the other weekend  for 2020 , took the 6br was pretty windy . I hadn't realized id taken the wrong drop card . Hence i missed 2 crow initially then i sussed it . And each miss was high . Id got my chart for an older Hotter load . Strelok was giving wrong soloutions too . I only had one more shot on a crow that late afternoon 505y cant remember the adjusts id made may of been 7-8 moa elevation 1/2 for wind at that moment . This was with a new NXS 8-32 hs turret and shot was spot on . I didn't even see 1 magpie on the ground that afternoon , but seen a few flitter around . Perhaps we meet again ..

Iv seen a family of young crow already strutting there stuff locally , seen a beautiful collerd dove yesterday picking twigs for nest building / i don't shoot dove btw . But it seems crow at least may be nest almost all year round with the fairly mild winters now? Hopefully this 3rd storm has passed and we can get on and try to do our bit helping the more vunerable birds during this season atb

  4. Iv just received some Nosler 95 grain Btips (purple) to try in my 6br , if they shoot well this could be my go-to  new bullet . Iv put them side by side to 95 TMK and there somewhat shorter with a lesser boat tail . But this could be a advantage to seat the bullet out further / nearer the lands . I struggled to get the 95 TMK to shot so sold them . I try and post a picture of the nosler nx to TMK . Then again iv not tested the 108 eld-m iv had for some time now . My shooting has dropped off the last couple of year so its now time to re-ignite the hunting bug , spring is close and im hopefully going to eradicate many corvids.

  5. 17 hmr is the first ever firearm i owned , marlin 917 i think . But i upgrade to an Anshutz 1517 TH cracking gun but gave up in the end due to bad inconsistent ammo . Not sure if things have changed . My Anni used to  prefer Federal ammo and shot tighter groups with it than Remington , hornady , cci . Weirauch do a hmr ? Thats who id try

You are missing the point of retail , your rifle smith will no doubt use what ever components you request made to your spec  ...if he thinks they are suitable , however if you order direct and there`s an issue with with something its your problem not your rifle smiths , you then have to pay to send the defective items back ,  and dont forget you are taking a cut out of your rifle smiths income if you are cutting him out of the deal , in the automotive trade no self respecting garage will fit customer supplied parts.

Maybe you could go a step further and build the rifle yourself on a £300 Machine mart lathe and when its best group is 10 MOA you can rant at your supplier for selling you dodgy components , they`ll then ask you to send in your barreled action ... but you cant as you are not an RFD and your local rifle smith has gone out of business trying to compete with precious penny pinchers  :)

Any RFD`s and rifle smiths on here are welcome to offer me a discount for fighting their corner :)

If there's an issue yes my problem , and id take / drive or send the issue back to whoever it concerns . No, just because i supplied a blank doesn't mean iv taken a cut of the smith. He would charge according /time labor tooling etc . He even suggested i pay direct because it was soo pricey anyway !

Plus on your auto motive wont fit customer supplied parts is rubbish - i actually get my car / van / bike parts myself and have local mechanics carry out the work , again they wont have parts in stock so i source them , they charge according ..

Also call me a penny Pincher ? And mock me about building myself ? Uuum that's why i use a professional to build for me it costs alot , plus i don't by cheap . Soo having a problem with cheap built rifle is a non starter . He's one of the best and properly trained , not like some so called gunsmiths that do mediocre work . With questionable background / training in sheds etc . Hell you even mention earlier - not much point in paying double for other brands ? Sounds like your penny Pinching . It's up to the buyer . They can get what they like . You also mention - why not just buy 2 from your local RFD - well they may not have specific caliber 17/20 for instance in the right profile twist etc . That why i had to source one . And took it to smith who charge according . So don't accuse people from taking profit . Hell daves even stated he would fit customer supplied barrel of good brands - but wouldn't warranty them - yup totally agree . Would never try that if i had an issue , im an honest person .

That my last input on this , i dont really know why im explaining myself to you anyway after mocking me building bloddy rifle  myself . Good day sir

  7. If i want something manufacturer for me to my spec and that manufacturer can & will do this , then thats what ill do thank you . That action was delivered to my smith and i took the blank and stock to him - he already had the right reamer . And i bought the trigger thru that smith - he never had any issues .

    ps sorry palo for hijack

  8. I believe some actually do , it would be fine if say a standard barrel / reamer was needed but if theres an issue with sizes (one off) drawing etc surly face to face with the customer is better and less hassle going thru hoops . When i had a custom Action made to my spec i was in direct contact with manufacturer and we made 1 or 2 changes . Then it was delivered to my smith , and paid for thru the smith . So not trying to take anything away . That's how id do it . Each to there own

  9. Its the same with some reamer manufacturer wont supplie to the individual - theres no laws against it . Not that i know of . I needed a custom reamer manufacturer for me but 1 uk  manufacturer wouldn't .  I would take all component to smith once gathered . I don't diy smith anything . Tho iv had a krieger blank here and taken that to smith once ready
