All I want it to do is show the time day and night so luminous is a priority. Can be hands or figures. What are you guys using and rate. ???????? S.S. I've been wearing a small Casio that weighs nothing; but I find I can't get the time from it when I only have time for a snatched glance at my moving wrist. For a fast glance, I've learnt that I find digital unworkable. For me, a fast glance needs analogue. Now that dusk is getting earlier, I've (literally!) blown the dust off an oldish Luminox of mine; stuck a new battery on it, and am now 'good to go'. For me, the only truly effective answer to night watch use is to buy one, such as Luminox/ traser / Nite, with GTLS illumination: Anything analogue and GTLS would be my recommendation, but my needs are rather specific! T100 GTLS vials have the brightest lume, e.g. some Nite models. However if you are a real lume junkie and want the brightest dial, you need Superluminova S3. Seiko's version of this is better than most. A Seiko 'Monster' is a good affordable example, but if you want something really special, take a look at their MarineMaster or 'Tunacan' models. With my older eyes and now a regular glasses wearer I can even read this in the dark without glasses albeit slightly out of focus. A little heavy due to being solidly built but a solid reliable bit of kit. I fully agree with the analogue comments and so now don't possess a digital watch. A previous digital watch that I did have actually kept losing time on recoil, just a few minutes here and there. It puzzled me for a while as it wasn't consistent as it depended on how many shots you fired. I offloaded this one to my son as it was no good when using rifles. Good choice - the next problem is that, to my eye, most of the GTLS watches are uber-fugly. Be interested to hear what you end up with. This is part of the watch trajectory I've followed. (I've realised that, for me, watches are bit like green coats, I'm not a collector, but I'm permanently on the hunt for the perfect solution for both!) I think the Luminox is fugly and, like most of the GTLS choices, far too 'busy'. Mine is mid-size. Seems a little less fugly at that size to my eye. On the plus side, it's also very light - the digital weighs 19grams, the luminox only raises that to 40grams. In comparison, I think the MWC are the least fugly. But neither fully press my buttons. Only bought it as my previous Traser was sold on, I really fancied the Titanium one, and had some cash to spare. GTLS is the way to go for me, there are a raft of different models to suit most tastes.
