Ronin
Gents - Ladies Small favour required; could those that have a 30-06 please measure a selection of cases at the case head rim (diameter). I have just replaced an extractor on a rifle that still presents the same problem - not extracting - I suspect that the brass I am using for testing is undersized..the extractor is rivetted in place and is fitted correctly and is the correct part for calibre (it also is not a Rem 700) I have Winchester brass that measures .465" diameter at the case head. I think this is the problem but would like an idea of the case head diameter of other brands if possible - I suspect Lapua brass will be closest to .473" As a test ive used some other lapua cases that are .473" diameter - they extract fine (these cases however, are not 30-06.....) Your help would be apreciated

Ronin
Terry thanks, The rifle extracts new Lap no prob, I have Win and RP - it wont pick up either. Guess the owner needs to invest in spendy brass.
Andrew
Have a SAKO extractor installed and your rifle won't be so fussy. In any event, I'd replace again that extractor; it should work with all the brass.~Andrew
