Mash67
hi i use 35grains of varget with a sierra hpbt match.i have a short barel 20 inch and get about 2800 over my chrono.shot it today over 200yrds . i didnt shoot great but take of 3 flyers the other 4 shots went into 1/4 inch.the other shots were def my fault and thats usual for me but those 4 shots the rifle and load did its thing.twist is 1 in 8 .243win Matt
eddieb
I was using 38gns Varget. CCI Large rifle primers Speer 1211 80grn or Speer 1213 85grn bullets Lapua, Federal or PPU Brass only in same type case batches. Very accurate and effective in my last 243 but my x bolt seems to favour H414. Varget is great powder used it also in 223 and 30.06 all good results. Only trouble the !!!!!!!! price. ejg223
Varget maybe a bit fast for 95gr? Look how the data goes down in big steps as bullet weight goes above 85gr. 39gr with 80gr Sierra spbt works well.
