G1 and G7 on Quickload

Things aren't right !

If I use G1 settings my windage is correct but elavation is massively wrong, as shown below. The 4.3 inches highlighted is correct but the elavation is way out

Now this is the same data but using the G7 settings, the elavation is correct, but what the hell is happening with the windage????

I hope this is clear? Quickload never seems to copy and paste as it shows on the program. The underlined numbers are the windage and elavation numbers that concern me.

Haven't got a clue what you're asking!

Go to the windows start button, click on it and you'll see a 'start search' box. Search for 'snipping tool', you can then take screen shots of the relevant bits and post them. Interested in seeing your inputs in each case (as well as being able to understand your outputs!). One 'stating the bleedin obvious' question: I take it you are entering different BC values in each case?

Cheers Matt, this isn't exactly what you meant but hopefully the same out come.

On my old QL pre Windows 7 I always used G1 ( I don't think you had any other option ) when I use G1 now the windage is correct a 1 mph cross wind predicts my bullet will move 4.3 inches at 1000 yards but the elavation prediction is way out, it should be roughly 22 MOA but as you can see with the G1 setting it predicts 39.8 MOA elavation to 1000 yards.

The G7 gives me the correct elavation setting of 22 MOA at 1000 yards but the windage is wrong. As you can see I'm slightly confused/bemused by this.

Same bullet, same data and haven't changed the BC values, confuzzled

Not sure if I'm grasping what you're doing, but it looks as though you're inputting the G7 value into the G1 program

For your .284 berger 180 VLD G1: 0.659 G7: 0.337 It looks as though you've used 0.337 for both calculations

ask Matt to run a data sheet for you with your current zero data.

It will be accurate and reflect what your getting in the field......

Any data you have now will change with replacement barrel.

Interesting your elevation at 1k is 3 MOA more than my 7mm (although I am pushing same bullet 300 fps faster) :)

Matt, this is what it gives me using the G1 BC of 0.659, as you can see it has sorted out the elavation ( 22 MOA at 1000 yds ) but now the windage is wrong ( it should read 4.3 inches at 1000 yds with a 1 mph cross wind ) I'm sure I'm being very dull but for the life of me I can't see where.

What version of quickload is that? I'm on V3.3 (and only use it very infrequently) I can't remember 'stability' being in my version - random thought lurking in the back of my mind:

Re-run using the correct BCs (ie G1 for G1 and G7 for G7! :) )

-but this time try 3 things (consecutively, not concurrently):

Input 10mph wind -wondering if you'll see 90% of what you'd expect.

Reverse the 1mph wind direction [i expect it's set to 90deg; input 270] -I'm wondering if, where you're getting zero in place of an expected 4.3, you might see something around 8

Finally, reset to 90deg and 1mph, and switch off spin drift.

Idle thoughts
