primers in 6.5x47????

If your rifle has a large firing pin / oversize firing pin hole, you may suffer from blown primers or excessive cratering before you reach the "optimum" load for accuracy.

You may see this when you use primers with softer (thinner) cups - Federal are prime examples of this.

Easily cured by swapping to CCI BR4's (I also use them)

You could try the Wolf primers, they are also thicker than Federals.

The other solution is drop the load a bit or get the firing pin hole bushed.

Quite a well documented issue with the 47 as its a high pressure round.

I agree 100% with Ronin on this - been there, got that particular T-shirt! In practice that means nearly all factory sporter actions, late / competition model Savage 12s possibly aside.

You can still get good performance, but use the CCI-BR4, and even then accept you're not going to get the same MVs as many are claiming. Alternatively, think Barnard Model S action or similar for best results with this cartridge.

Looking at it from the other way round, if you're thinking of rebarrelling a factory job or using its action, go for .260 Rem instead.
