ejg223
Was out for a snoop around a free range chicken farm with my son and the 243. As it started to get a dusky the farmer came for a chat as we overlooked the valley below his shed. After a long chat I said lets quickly check below us as the light was going. About 100yds down from us I saw somthing white in the grass, thought it was the cat I had seen earlier but checked to be sure. A big fox was looking at me with a bloody chicken in his mouth... He turned around and wanted to get out. The 80grainer was quicker. We went down to see the result while the farmer was mumbling that his chicken might still be alive. Was a huge fat healthy looking dog fox, chicken was minus head. Third fox I got there this week. This one picked up the chicken about 50yds from where we were chatting. Farmer was more than happy that he was gone. edi

Chris-NZ
Poultry sure has a way of attracting critters... 308Panther KFC may not be up-market eatin' Pat but that's a rather uncharitable description of the patrons Chris-NZ

One problem on this farm is that the farmer shoots at the foxes with a 22mag. Misses quite often and makes the foxes tough to get. Any kind of caller and the foxes just run away, I presume some club members try calling. I shot about 25 fox on this farm in the last two three months all without calling and all without lamp. Just patience. edi
