Lothar Walther Barrels

Recommended Posts

I am thinking of having my Sako 75 30-06 rebarreled with a Lothar Walthar 1450 Super Magnum Sporter 24" stainless barrel, but I cannot find any specification with regard to weight. The barrel would more than likely be unfluted.

Can anyone help please?

Regards

I had my sako 308 rebarreled 22" 1450 super magnum, it is a very good compromise

between weight and precision. I think it's "just right"

Rather save weight on the stock than on the barrel.

My friend had a 270wsm howa done with this barrel size, but fluted. Matched with

a light stock it's almost lighter than an average standard sporter rifle.

This looks similar to a No6 sporter contour - my guess before chambering would be 4.5 lbs

MB,

according to a little program I have (stolen from Lilja, www.riflebarrels.com)

a 26" No. 5 would be 3.8lb (30 cal)

If you can't find the progr. PM your e-mail and I can send it to you.

Just had my rifle apart and threw it on the scales.

22" lothar walther non fluted 1450 super magnum in 308 with a sako L579 action and trigger

no bolt or rings or floor plate weighed 2036 grams.
