Huddy
Getting further into long range shooting and have recently been told about .284, just about to start reloading (going to be taught by an old school, long time served reloader) what's peoples thoughts on the .284 and what rifles would you recommend? Timbo1963
Like a lot of cartridges it’s good but you need to work out what your requirements are. Have a look here and talk to as many people as you can doing the same type of shooting https://www.6mmbr.com/7mm284.html
No i deer
I use a 284 for hunting and 1000yds snapshooting and IMHO is the best alround calibre.. 162 grainers for hunting.. 180s for target purposes. N165 or N160 is my preference.
swinranger
I've been using N165 driving Sierra MK 183 grain or Hornady ELD-M's in a 1:8 twist for quite some time now. Can't fault it!
No i deer
I'll likely use up the 180gr ELDM's I have for sell. There brilliant bullets until they don't make the target (blow up). Bergers are getting far to expensive
