.17 calibre specific moderator

Something a little smaller but just as much work in it, all stainless, fully welded for .17. cf

My 17 hmr mod needs regular cleaning to get rid of lumps of powder residue that can clog up the baffles/ end cap . Using it in cold weather ends up with the inside being very wet so something that can be taken apart and cleaned would be my preference.

The residue has difficulty in sticking to the stainless steel internals and as such it tends to self clean, but I get what you are saying.

Thanks for the reply regarding stainless, that’s good to know. I have ASE Rimfire mods on both the 22lr and hmr and often get some flyers which I put down to bits of crud in the end cap as after a tap out in the field the accuracy comes back to normal. 
I’ll keep your designs in mind if I need to change my mods .

Interesting mod, would it work on a .17 fireball, looking for something effective but light, could you send me some pics and dimensions including weight please, thanks Neill

The fireball is an odd one, bangs out at around the 4000fps mark but will less powder then the 17 rem.

I will have a look at the gas capacity and get back to you if thats ok.

After looking into this, our standard 17cal mod will cope with the fireball.
