What sort of magnification range should I look at for spotting out to 1000m? Would it differ if I went for binos over a spotting scope? I'd prefer binos I just find them easier to look though for long periods.

This isn't a brand recommendation post just need to know what level of mag I need.

Thanks guys

Can easily see bullet holes at 300 m with my scope at 27x . For more I have a spotting scope with 20-60 x eyepiece. Biggest problem is mirage at that distance. Splashes on steel is ok but holes at 1000 on paper are going to be hard to spot .

Cheers, steel hits is what I'll be looking at most of the time anyway. Thanks
