Lewiscooke
What sort of magnification range should I look at for spotting out to 1000m? Would it differ if I went for binos over a spotting scope? I'd prefer binos I just find them easier to look though for long periods. This isn't a brand recommendation post just need to know what level of mag I need. Thanks guys
Richiew
Can easily see bullet holes at 300 m with my scope at 27x . For more I have a spotting scope with 20-60 x eyepiece. Biggest problem is mirage at that distance. Splashes on steel is ok but holes at 1000 on paper are going to be hard to spot .

Cheers, steel hits is what I'll be looking at most of the time anyway. Thanks
TJC
You can get away with 10x but 15x is perfect if you have good glass. If not, you end up buying one of each 😝
