Is there a way to stop Edge from loading automatically when starting up a laptop running Windows 10 Home edition? (I use Firefox)

It's slowing everything down.

Right click the task-bar on the bottom of your screen...a menu will open and then click on 'Task Manager'....on the top of the box that has opened you will see a row of tabs...click the 'Startup' tab...then, in this window click on Microsoft Edge to highlight it...then, on the bottom of that window click 'disable'

Hope that helps 👍

I totally get your frustration with Edge slowing down your laptop startup. Fortunately, there's a way to stop it from loading automatically.
You can try this nifty trick: Open the Settings app by pressing Windows key + I, then go to "Apps" and click on "Startup" on the left sidebar. Look for Microsoft Edge in the list and toggle it off to prevent it from launching at startup.
If you need more Windows-related tips and tricks, I recently stumbled upon a helpful Reddit community called the Windows key Reddit sub. They have loads of discussions and solutions for Windows-related issues. You might find it useful to check it out.
