Ah, but they don't like me there....apparently rabbit or pheasant + .300 RUM = ban

Personally I've always seen.......rabbit or pheasant + .300 RUM = finely diced stew :D:lol:

Reckon they'll have me back?

Yes you have done your porridge  speak to the mods nicely and I'm sure they will be fine.

One other consideration is the state of mind of your intended target. Animals that are aware of your presence or at least suspicious of something not being quite right are obviously going to be nervous and fidgety, this is where screw ups happen.

I have my own range limit which is probably more than the average stalker but not as far as some. I stick to this limit in perfect conditions and shorten it as and when things are stacked against me, living in the Southdowns the wind does funny things.

A few weeks ago I had a herd of fallow in front of me within my range limit, the wind was light and I was prone with a bi-pod,the shot was on. Only one problem the herd had been driven toward me and had already had one member removed, typically they were very stop start stop start always looking behind themselves and not sure of which direction to go next and although several presented me with a broadside shot I declined.
