maltbuck
Putting a 308 deer rifle together that will occasionally undertake F/TR duties, action choice has been reduced to either Borden Alpine or RPA Quadlite. Any opinions gratefully received. Thanks Maltbuck
Vermincinerator
Hi Maltbuck, I dont have much experience with the RPA but i have a Borden Timberline action on my 257 Ackley. Its an excellent action and i could not recommend it highly enough. Ian.
baldie
i have an rpa action, and its a very accurate gun, but bolt lift is stiff, due to it bein a 4 lug. havent used a borden, but they have a fabulous reputation. Callum Fergusson is the importer i think, and the only other man i know with one is Ian [vermincinerator on here] drop him a pm, he will tell you all about his, i,m sure. baldie
As an addition...RPA actions are now, not what they were quality wise. i was lucky and got an older one, the newer ones are not as good. Infact its a no brainer really....get a borden.

Ronin
Surgeon everyone ive built shoots in the low 3's / .2's (with a decent barrel) BAT repeaters are good, RPA nice actions, Borden great if you can get one... then theres Lawton and trued Rems, Stillers, Pierce precision BArnard etc etc etc. Multiple quality choices.... Guest Tiff
Had a quadlite on an F-Class gun, but sold it due to the relatively stiff bolt lift.

maltbuck
That would appear to be decision made - or at least re-affirmed. Many thanks all.
