Elwood
I want a finished length of 28 inches, do I order one 29 or 30 inches long?
6mmBR
When I ordered some Kreigers I stated the diameter you wanted the barrel to finnish to at your length, the tubes are normally longer. ie I ordered a tube to finnish at 0.850" at 28" the tube however was 31" long. I phoned them and had a chat they were very helpful. Their profiling machine will work out the taper to give you the correct diameter at the finnish lenght you require. Ronin
You lose and inch off each end when machining to take out the "bell" shape that is caused when the barrel is lapped. Best order a 30" if you want a 28" finished, but do you mean 28" from front of action to crown or 28" from rear of barrel tenon (in action) to crown - this will make a difference....? Also I have posted a reply on SH re mags - I have the person in questions contact e-mail and number if you want to progress this further, he is very good to deal with and may be an easy solution rather than mess with modifying AICS mags. Elwood
Thanks Andy and Dave, and I mean 28 inches from barrel tenon to crown, so 30 inches it is.
Andrew
I like these barrels. That 1000 yard groups is a good one but I think the shooter did more work than the barrel! ~Andrew
