Bullet head damage

Recommended Posts

are they striking the edge of the chamber or ejection port when being ejected, as this procedure is designed for the fired case, you can even get a small dent on the empty case mouth from some actions. + the angle the bullet enters the chamber from the mag can mark the bullet, using some of sled single shot loaders can increase the angle - ive found this.

It's the tip of the bullet that's getting damaged, can't say anything about accuracy as its a new gun and just been out today to zero the scope in.

But on the other hand I did have a little trouble at getting anything new a grouping, but alas I ran out of time on the range

D'fish, it might help if we knew what the ammo was-whether commercially loaded-ie to SAAMI specs, which should be ok-and if so suggests rifle issues. If handloads,is the COAL within SAAMI coal length?

And is the bullet a plastic tip,or what?

Have you tried differnt ammo?

How about some photos?
