Primer Swaging

Strangely Brown

Recommended Posts

I have just been given a large ammo can of once fired 308 GGG which should be ideal for the various 7.62 rifles I reload for.

Long term I might also use it for .223.

I've been looking at the two versions of the RCBS primer swager; has anybody used either, or is there something else out there I should consider?

Dillon Super Swage 600

What a timely thread!

Another enthusiastic vote for the Dillon Super Swage. I used the RCBS for decades and decades and used it last week to prep some Lake City 308. When I tried to seat the primers I still got stiff resistance in the first few cases -a frequent occurrence.

Frustrated, I drove to the City last night and found a Dillon Super Swage as a local store. I set it up for 308, c-clamped it to my bench, and ran my RCBS swaged brass through it. The primers seated as smooth as silk. Excellent unit and worth the extra $$ you spend over the RCBS offerings.~Andrew
