SteveW
Hi all, Knowing that many of you shoot the 22-250, and having read about many of your loads, I thought you guys could help me with some advice. When I starting handloading for my first 22-250, just over 10 years ago, I got lucky straight away and found that H4895 and 55 V max moly's produced a match made in heaven in my rifle, but in most of my other rifles I have always used Vihtavuori powders (N160 in the 6mm/284 & 220AI and N120 in the 221 Fireball) Well here's the question, i've recently purchased another 22-250 and tried several powders that I already had (H380, Benchmark,Varget & H4895) which never really matched my first attempts So I thought I'd try one of the Vit's, but unsure which would be worth trying, N150, N140 or N135. Which one would you recommend would be experimenting with ??? I plan on shooting either the 52g Barts or the 52g A Max from a 24", 1:14 twist barrel. Many thanks for reading. Vermincinerator
Vit 140 mate, Vit 135 for 30-45grn bullets and Vit 150 for 60-69grn bullets. Being a bit faster then H380, be careful when you approach max loads as pressures peak very quickly. Ian.

6mmBR
In my old Remy 700 Varmint I used 35.6gn N135 and a 40gn Vmax set at SAAMI 2.350" this proved very accurate. The rifle now wears a .22-250Ackley barrel and loves 52 Bergers and N550 Cheers Dave
