stillair1
Hi chaps, embarrassingly the back end of my p8 wildcat mod,the bit with the over tube and diffuser part are stuck together. The front baffle stack comes off OK. I've tried dismantling oil, coaster grip, rubber gloes etc.I'm thinking of a bit of heat from a hairdryer or hot air gun, bearing in mind the O ring seals

spanner
two choices boiling water or freezer over night Boiling water worked for me, pour a kettle full over it then try to unscrew with towels to protect your hands or gloves etc.
stillair1
Thanks for you input chaps. Phew ! now sorted. I think the problem was a bit of ali corrosion in the diffuser bridge o ring groove (about 8mm long) had pushed the o ring hard up against the outer tube just enough to seize things together. I finally got it to bits after an overnight spray of rost off and careful use of a b&d workmate tightened on the rather narrow bottom tube bush. It did the trick and once unscrewed the centre part came off easy. Of course everything was clean inside, but it obviously pays just to keep an eye on things.
