Brillo
I've started annealing my brass with some success. However, the blow torch I have hasn't got a very fine flame, consequently the shoulder gets hot too. Any recommendations from those who already do it or advice on how to avoid the current problem? Big Al
B&Q have at least three different torches with a fine enough flame ranging from £12-£35, any one will do.
DaveT
I am not an expert but the shoulder getting hot should not be an issue (I believe) provided the area from just below the shoulder to the base does not get over 450C and soften as a result. I use 2 different Tempilaqs one on the inside of the neck at 750c and then 450c on the outside from the shoulder down which is out of the direct flame....looking for the stuff inside the neck to change colour but the stuff on the outside NOT to change...IE not going over 450c. Grateful for any more detailed advice
