Bushnell elite 4200

Recommended Posts

Has anyone got or used the Bushnell elite 4200 6-24x50 with mil dot reticle. I can get one from the states for £300. If the feed back I get is good then I think that this will be the best cheap high mag scope I can find. I really want as high mag I can get that is reliable. It will be going on my T/C encore .243 for long range bunny bashing etc.

Thanks folks

I have its predecessor (Bausch & Lomb 4200) on my .243. Excellent bit of glass.

Alternatively, and I know some people don't like them much, have a look at the MTC Viper range.

iv never had one but i was reading about all scopes and how they are made and perform and the Bushnell elite 4200 comes up there with the best of them http://www.opticswarehouse.co.uk/sitemap.asp

cheep but good scope for the money is this one of theses two just take the wheel of the side if you want it for hunting plus it has a ir ret

i do like the ags scope but it dont come with the marked rised turrets which is a shame, but does come with the side focus ..mtc ,viper which is like the ags does come with the raised turrets and ir ret and looks a good scope for the money .get your self in the gun shop get all the scopes out and pick them up one as a time and look through them putting the ones you dont like to one side as you go along ,you should have one at the end that you like ..wined the scope up to full mag to see how dark they go ,dark is not good on a scope ..

go with the 40mm objective version. The 50 mm is heavier, doesn't give any more adjustment range, and isn't any brighter. And, the 50mm is an extra $40-$50 cheaper which will pay for the shipping.

I have been looking at similar scopes for my 223 to replace the swift I have now. The 4200 6-24 was my first choice in glass and optical quality (I have the 3200 5-15 now and love it) but I'm hooked on turrets at the moment. We'll see how I get on with the mil-dot on the 22 and whether I want to do that with the 223. If I like it then I'm onto the same scope you want.

Thanks,

Rick

I have had Bushnall scopes in the past and there glass is good and the scopes robust, if it was me I would spend another £130 and get a leupold that has a lifetime Garentee ,if you shop around you can get some really good deals and if you talk nice to the right people you can get round the import duty. ;)
