pwinnall
Hi, Im thinking of going for an AR-15 and quite like the SGC machined billets. Has anyone got one and are they good? Thanks for your advice. Phil
baldie
They are very heavy. Despite all the hype and general drivel spoken about billet uppers and lowers, all they add ….is weight. Talk to a rifle builder who actually uses and shoots these guns.
Sapper811
Shot nigh on all billet types hyped over the years. Billet = heavy and more cash. No practical benefit
pwinnall
Hi, Because I work in engineering, they looked good and appealed to that side of me but it just never crossed my mind about the weight. What are a good brand/ make to go for then? I'm not into CSR so it's range and foxes it's main use. And they look good too ;-) Thanks again. Sapper811
Phil as Dave said talk to someone who shoots and builds the rifles. One of Dave's AR's ( or one of Mark Bradley's ) is worth the investment. Looking at the rifles listed in your interests I see you like quality. Talk to Dave or Mark and stick with the quality theme. Wazzer
I have one built by Baldie, I shoot both Csr with it and use it at the range. Never misses a beat and will hit the V bull at 500 yds all day long. In fact if you look in the sales section he has two for sale right now.
