Tikka 22-250 Ackely

Recommended Posts

Some of you may recall my Tikka 595 in 22-250AI.

After several thousand rounds the accuracy started to reduce from what I expect, so I borescoped the barrel a few weeks ago.

It looked just fine, with a smidgen of fire cracking just beyond the case neck - so I decided to set the barrel back a wee bit and rechamber, re-crown and see if I could breath some life back into it.

Tikka 595, Mcmillan, Sako Varmint stock (Duracoat by Jaeger - thats been on for 6? years), Border cut 8 twist barrel, Reflex Ar mod, Leup Vari X111, 4-14x50 LRT scope.

Reamer is 292" nk

Looks the part with short barrel. 16"?

Was the 595 much trouble to fit in the Sako stock?

I'll measure the barrel, think its around 20"

Was a special inlet when I bought it from Mcmillan - think it was called Tikka Whitetail Classic in the states.

Inlet wasn't 100% but I adapted it not it is 100% fit!

Not sure Simon, I didn't chronograph it as I was finding an accuracy load first - though I imagine somewhere around 2900 - 3100 fps.
