walkabout
I have just replaced my medium in my vibrating tumbler, it is red/brown in colour. After I have done the ultrasound on the cases I tumble them to make them shiny! However the cases are shiny on the outside but red/brown on the inside. The medium has some sort of jewlers polish in it. I am worried about the inside of the case necks, if its got a coating on them would it effect the bullet to case tension? Brillo
Yup, that's Jewellers Rouge. It sounds like there's too much of it in the medium. The red coating will disappear after a few tumblings. Until then the the excess is easily removed with a quick ultrasonic clean.

6mmBR
do not use jewellers rouge its too aggressiveMark jewellers rouge is not aggressive in the slightest. It's used for putting the final polish on jewellery and is the least abrasive of all the jewellery polishes. Not sure how residue would effect neck tension though. Cheers Dave
walkabout
Thanks guys I might see if I notice any difference in grouping I tried to see if the cases felt any different seating heads side by side with non tumbled cases, but could not feel any difference I had loads of old cases and ran several batches through the tumbler, they all had the same coating on the inside. Maybe something I will have to live with until I think it's time to go over to stainless.
