SK Match ammo prices and where to buy?

Hello, I've just got a new 10/22 and i've been told SK Match shoots well.

My local shop in Worcester don't stock it so I'm having trouble finding some.

I'm going to the Phoenix but NSRA are a bit expensive.

I'm looking to buy up to 5k if they are good and the same batch.

Any ideas where to get it from and prices or even alternatives to try?

Thanks for your advice.

Phil

I personally wouldn't buy 5k without trying them in your rifle first. The 10/22 can be very fussy.

I agree, wanted to try a few first then get the same batch of 5k.

Well sometimes you have to pay a bit more, but you'll probably spend a lot in fuel just getting there.

Besides, one of the reasons why I never shoot in the Phoenix events is because they're so expensive.

So, if you are willing to pay the extortionate entry fees, why worry about a couple of quid extra on the ammo?

The thing about the NSRA is you can go and buy 50rds of each type and then walk outside and use their range for £8 or something like that

I've had nothing but good luck with SK ammo in my own BAR 22

I don't use SK match but have used their subsonic hollow point for years. It really likes a cleaned barrel and around 25 rounds through it to settle then perform at its best, it doesn't seem to get on with mixed lubes and lead down the tube

I use SK standard plus (£6.70 /100) in my 10/22 which it cycles and groups well at 50yds, it also like CCI mini mags (£7 /100). :D

As regards that alternative, try some CCI green tag they have been doing some tidy groups at silly long ranges at weekend for me. How good? well you could be excused for thinking they were shot with an off the shelf .223 rem (unless you looked at the drop!)

Hi Kent, I love green tag but thought the prices have gone up. How much do you pay for them? Thanks phil

Sorry not a clue, just grit my teeth pay and leave the shop over such matters
