My new rifle....

This may be of help, so thought I'd update.

Another easy modification to the Rigby Bipod is to put a washer under the leg attachment bolt:

For the legs to fold, the design requires a bit of 'play' but this washer increases the area covered by the bolts pressure, greatly reducing the excess movement. Plus you can tighten the bolt down hard (if you don't need to fold the legs between shots, or once at the firing point etc.) and it will completely lock the legs in position, eliminating any lateral play.

Tiff,

This starting to sound like a bipod you have to completely rebuild to be of any use

Is the 'play' in the legs that you're curing with the washers 'wobble'?

Is this an accurate summary:

It doesn't fit the rifle without modification.

It undoes when panning

The legs loosen off without epoxy on the plate screws.

and

The legs wobble.

But, other than that, "all good"?!:lol::)

All sounds about right - a bit kit car ish!

The legs don't wobble, just have a slight bit of play on mine that requires 'loading the unit', like an atlas but less movement. I don't really like this, so it is now more like a harris - hopefully that makes sense...

Still at the price I paid I'm happy with it.

Right I better start loading for tomorrow, need to get out and zero/practice this afternoon.
