memory foam. don't use it as a rifle rest!

Recommended Posts

thought i would be a bit smart and canibalize an old memory foam pillow, and make a nice shooting rest for zeroing in / target practice..........

the bloody thing!

you look down range, line up and the bugger , you can just see it sinking slowly slowly down!

my original idea was something i could take out on the field with me just for this purpose.

(i.e. a smallish bean bag type thing).

i was actually cracking up with laughter, watching the damn thing slowly sink down!

my idea is, some kind of portable 'infill' for a small bag. beans? poly beads?

any of your suggestions, will of course, as usual be no doubt good.

:-)

If weight not an issue

Builders sand

I had a bag rest with wheat in it but heavy again

Ended up filling bag with supermarket own brand porridge oats

Light weight and good rest

nailed it!

used an old pair of trousers i had, cut a leg off cable tied the ends, lined it with a plastic refuse sack, filled with mdf sawdust .

light, and holds its shape lovely.

its about a foot wide and about 7 inches high.

works great!

  • 2 months later...

Im use a couple of old socks filled with corn, tied off at six inches long.

They can be used standing on end or longways or even one on top of the other.
