Wsm
If they're no worse with good shot placement and much better with bad placement then that's not too bad is it? Well thats one way to look at it Another (and far more acceptable alternative both practically and ethically) is to discard the result of one face on shot with a totally unsuitable bullet and use one of the more suitable readily available purpose built alternatives
sonic
Lol that was going to be my question has anyone tried A-max on live quarry? and if so was it efective enough for a clean kill? Rick A friend of mine used them on roe but got unpredictable expansion. Last one had a letterbox shaped exit.

Scotch_egg
Lads please lets not go down this route. It has been covered many times and always ends up the same way. UKV is not the place to debate this topic.
forbie
Never had a problem with sako 55 grainers nor reloads with the sierra 1390 bowls em over every time, some you see spectacular exit wounds others with no exit wound. I think what you need to have done in the past is either get higher or not take the shot. Shooting through rape stubble is a lottery all you hear is tik tik tik on its way to the target am surprised they ever reach the fox.
