If they're no worse with good shot placement and much better with bad placement then that's not too bad is it?

 

Well thats one way to look at it :unsure:

 

Another (and far more acceptable alternative both practically and ethically) is to discard the result of one face on shot with a totally unsuitable bullet and use one of the more suitable readily available purpose built alternatives :)

Lol that was going to be my question :P has anyone tried A-max on live quarry? and if so was it efective enough for a clean kill?

A friend of mine used them on roe but got unpredictable expansion. Last one had a letterbox shaped exit.

Never had a problem with sako 55 grainers nor reloads with the sierra 1390 bowls em over every time, some you see spectacular exit wounds others with no exit wound. I think what you need to have done in the past is either get higher or not take the shot. Shooting through rape stubble is a lottery all you hear is tik tik tik on its way to the target am surprised they ever reach the fox.
